Our matches recognize three rifle classes:
F-Open (F-O):
Any caliber up to 8mm
Max weight: 10kg (including sights, bipod, or other attachments)
Fired from a bipod or pedestal rest
F-Target Rifle (F-TR):
Calibers: .223 Remington or .308 Winchester (or metric equivalents)
Max weight: 8.25kg (including sights and bipod)
Bipods only — no pedestal rests
Target Rifle (TR):
Calibers: .223 or .308
Max weight: 8.25kg (including sights)
Open sights only (no scopes)
No front or rear rests permitted
Rifles are not weighed.
Squadded relays: 2–3 shooters, alternating shot-for-shot (Bisley style).
Muzzle brakes not allowed.
Scope levels, including electronic, are permitted.
Electronic targets: bring a Wi-Fi enabled phone, tablet, or laptop.
No special app needed.
3-second display delay.
Only last 2 shots visible.
MOA grid enabled.
Targets: ICFRA (meters)
Scoring:
Safety Rules:
Rifles must remain open, magazines removed, and ECI inserted except during prep or live fire.
Bolt may only be fully closed while aimed at target (horizontal loading rule).
Never leave the line with a loaded rifle.
Rifle must be cleared (ECI in, checked by scorekeeper & RO) before removal.
Timing:
45 seconds per shot.
3 shooters per mound → 15+2 match = 40 minutes.
Each relay: 45 minutes total (3 min prep, 2 min target exposure, 40 min firing/clearance).
No ammo may be loaded until commanded by RO.
Early firing = disqualification.
Blow-off period provided before matches (targets off).

Refund Policy:
Cancel ≥3 days before → 100% refund.
Match cancelled by AFRA → 100% refund.
To cancel: open your event → “Already Registered” → “Cancel Registration.”

Overnight camping is permitted during matches.
No charge — indicate "camping" on your registration form

Dry camping only (no grey water dumping facilities)
Propane BBQs/smokers allowed (unless county ban)
Alcohol permitted after 5pm; no drugs
Bring your own water & food
No electricity
Tents & RVs allowed
Bearproof bins, first aid kit, and washrooms available
While using the range, visitors and members are not required to purchase a Kananaskis Visitor Pass as long as they don not stop in the park along the way.
