INFORMATION FOR VISITORS ATTENDING MATCHES

F CLASS RULES

Three separate rifle classes are recognized under the rules of our matches:

• F-O ( F Open): any caliber up to and including 8mm and the overall weight must not exceed 10kg, including all attachments (such as, but not limited to, its sights and bipod, if any). This is shot from a bipod or pedestal rest.

• F-TR (F Target Rifle): .223 Remington or .308 Winchester or their commercial metrification equivalents only. The overall weight must not exceed 8.25kg, including all attachments (such as, but not limited to, its sights and bipod). Pedestal rests are not permitted.

• TR (Target Rifle): Target rifle uses either .223 or .308 caliber with an overall maximum weight of 8.25kg including all attachments (such as, but not limited to, its sights). No front or rear rests are permitted, and only open sights may be used (no scopes).

Match Instructions

• Rifles are NOT weighed;
• All matches will be fired in squaded relays of two or three grouped shooters per relay alternating shot for shot (Bisley Style);
• Muzzle brakes are NOT permitted;
• Scope levels, including electronic scope levels are permitted;
• Electronic targets require you to bring a wifi enabled smartphone, tablet or laptop. There is no special app you need to download. The settings for the targets will have a 3 second delay between the time the shot is fired until you see it on your device, only the last 2 shots can be seen on the screen, and an MOA grid will be turned on. Targets used in matches are ICFRA Targets in meters;
• Safety is paramount. Rifles will have actions open, magazines removed (if equipped), and an Empty Chamber Indicators (ECI) inserted into the chamber at all times except when on the firing line during the preparation period or during live firing. During live fire, you must be aimed on target before you can full close your bolt (horizontal loading rule) to ensure your bullet will hit the dirt berm if fired accidentally;
• At no time is a competitor to leave the firing line with a loaded rifle. All competitors are responsible for safe rifles while on the firing line. At no time should a rifle be removed from position without the competitor having first placed an ECI in the empty chamber of their rifle and verified by the competitor’s scorekeeper and the Range Officer.
• Competitors are permitted 45 seconds per shot. There are three shooters to a mound and for a 15+2 round match, this is 40 minutes. Each Relay will have 45 minutes to set up, shoot and retire. This will be based upon a 3-minute prep (including the move forward to the line), 2 minute target exposure (dry firing permitted) and 40 minutes to shoot and get off of the firing line. No ammunition may be loaded until the command to do so is made by the Range Officer. Time limits will be strictly enforced;
• During the 3-minute preparation period at the beginning of each relay, the ECI may be removed, but no ammunition may be loaded at this time. Anyone who fires a shot during the preparation period will be disqualified from the competition;
• Prior to the start of the match, there will be a separate blow-off for those who need to foul their barrel. Targets are turned off for this period;
• Parking is to the rear of all berms; and
• Final scores will be posted at the range at the end of each day.

REFUND POLICY

AFRA will refund 100% of your match fee if you cancel your registration at least 3 days prior to the event. In the case where a match is cancelled by Fullbore, you will receive 100% refund as well. To cancel your registration, go to the particular event you have registered for and click 'already registered' then 'cancel registration'. You will then get en email with further instructions. WHAT TO BRING

The following is the basic gear you need to shoot a match:

• Your PAL and either a visitor match pass or member ID;
• Your rifle. Make sure it is properly zeroed and you have the DOPE settings (the elevation settings) for the distances being shot at the match;
• Ammunition. We usually shoot 70 rounds per day plus add 5 rounds for a blowoff period each morning if you want;
• A front and rear rest;
• A shooting matt;
• A wifi enabled phone, tablet or laptop. there is no app required;
• Something to put your tablet in to shade it. Most people use a collapsable Safeway shopping bag with stiff walls;
• Ear protection (mandatory) and eye protection (recommended); and
• Paper and pen.

CAMPING

Overnight camping at the Fullbore range is permitted during matches or with special permission of the Board. This would apply to all members and those visitors attending a match. Here are the rules regarding camping:

• No charge;
• Indicate if you are camping on the match registration form so we can make arrangements for you regarding locks and gates;
• Absolutely no fires permitted;
• Camping is 'dry'. This means when using an RV there are no dumping facilities, and no grey or black water can be dumped anywhere on the APRA property;
• Propane BBQs and smokers are permitted (unless there is a temporary ban by the county);
• Responsible drinking of alcohol after 5pm is permitted. No drugs permitted;
• Bring your own water, food etc;
• No electricity provided;
• Tents and RV permitted; and
• Bearproof garbage bins, first aid kit and washrooms are provided.

Kananaskis Visitor Pass

While using the range, visitors and members are not required to purchase a Kananaskis Visitor Pass as long as they don not stop in the park along the way.
